Bekal Fort
This is the place where those oft-repeated cliche's about God's Own Country come true.To one side of the imposing fort lies the shallow beach,quite the lotus-eater's delight,over-run as it is with shells of all sizes and colours,vast colonies of bashful crabs and little else.

Kappil Beach
A mere 10-minute drive from the fort,and another beachcombing discovery,Kappil is a secluded beach,partially over-run with a thick green creepers that throws up mauve flowers.

Kozhikode
This legendary port is on the Malabar coast,near the backwaters of the Kallai River,57 km down the Wayanad Hills from Lakkidi.The great traveller Ibn Battuta,often referred to as the Arab Marco Polo,visited Kozhikode(then Calicut) at least six times between 1342 and 1347.Kozhikode (Calicut)is still the most important city in northern Malabar.

Guruvayoor

Guruvayoor(29 Km west of Thrissur) is one of the most sacred and important pilgrim centers of Kerala,the main attraction being the Sree Krishna temple.
